Promise Fifteen

Thursday 23rd May 2019

Dalton Park’s 15th pledge promise is made to The Sick Children’s Trust – thanks to a £2,000 donation and bounty of homeware essentials.

The Sick Children’s Trust provides ‘Home from Home’ accommodation for families with seriously ill children in hospital, as well as free emotional and practical support.

Kind-hearted shoppers helped Dalton Park raise £2,000 by donating at fundraising pots across the centre. The homeware bundle included cutlery, mugs, crockery and pans.

Based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and the Freeman Hospital, the charity’s high-quality accommodation helps around 1,200 families across the North East every year. It costs £30 to support a family in one of their houses per night and each home features a ‘wish list’ of items required to create a comfortable experience.

Dalton Park’s Marketing Manager, Louise Thompson, said the centre is thrilled to be able to support families with sick children across the region.

“We have been working with The Sick Children’s Trust for a number of years and are proud to continue supporting such a worthy cause.

“The charity’s Crawford and Scott houses enable hundreds of families across the region to stay together minutes from their sick child’s bed and we hope our latest donation will help them to continue offering this vital service.”
