News on some new arrivals at Beamish Wild
"We are looking forward, fingers crossed, to some new arrivals this year at our centre. Many of our breeding pairs of birds are busy nest building. Our European Eagle Owls are again sitting on eggs so hopefully we can have as much success with them as we did last year. One of our flying display birds Huggy, is now a year old and was one of the birds hatched by the European eagle owls last year. European Eagle Owls, being one of the world’s largest owl species with up to a 5ft wing span makes it all the more an exciting view for our visitors as they fly only inches above the heads of those watching the displays. Along with our Falcons, Hawks and Vultures these combined make an enjoyable hour of flying fun!"
