Dalton Park have teamed up with "Making Music" to showcase some great voluntary and amateur music groups in the region. There will be performances and workshops throughout the day from 11:30 to 4pm
The Big Busk event is a celebration of voluntary music and dance in the community. It brings the sights, sounds and excitement of dance and music to public spaces.
The Big Busk forms part of Making Music's 75th birthday celebrations. We hope you enjoy it!!
"Making Music" exists to help voluntary and amateur music making flourish and currently supports over 2,700 music groups in the UK.
Saturday 31st July
Hosted by Sun FM, the following music and dance groups will perform at the following times:
11:45am -12:15pm Steel Gems - steel panning
12:30pm -1pm Zazz dance performance
1pm -2pm Free workshop- steel pans for all ages
1:15pm -1:45pm Few Broth acoustic four piece band
2pm -2:30pm Northumbrian Pipers - traditional north east pipes
2:45pm -3:15pm Craghead brass band
3pm -4pm Free workshop - urban dance for all ages.
There is no need to book a place on the workshop in advance - just turn up at the scheduled time to get involved and have a go! Workshops are open to absolutely everyone of any age but children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All workshops are completely free!
