Celebrating Global Recycling Day

Friday 18th March 2022

“Every year, the earth yields billions of tons of natural resources and at some point, in the not too distant future, it will run out.

“That’s why we must think again about what we throw away – seeing not waste, but opportunity.”

That’s the message from the Global Recycling Foundation for Global Recycling Day on March 18th 2022.

Dalton Park is committed to continually improving its efforts to operate as sustainably as possible.

In the last three years, from 2019 to 2021, we have recycled 550.465 tonnes of waste which included 381,000 tonnes of cardboard and 12,700 tonnes of polythene.

We have consistently recycled 42.5 percent of our total waste since 2019 with the remainder going to incineration with energy recovery – and nothing going to landfill.

Dalton Park’s Centre Manager Richard Kaye said: “We are proud to be supporting National Recycling Day which is a great opportunity to raise awareness about sustainability and protecting our environment.

“We are working hard to recycle as much waste as possible, ensuring nothing goes to landfill.”

Dalton Park is a proud partner of Climate Action North, arranging eco-friendly initiatives across the centre.
