Rubbish job? They don’t think so!
A team of children from Murton Junior Club were prepped and primed with litter pickers as they headed out onto Dalton Park’s parkland for a day of rubbish collecting.
Organised by club leaders and volunteers, the event aimed to raise awareness of the impact litter has on outdoor spaces and the damage it can cause to wildlife, and how we can encourage communities to be socially responsible by keeping places litter free.
The children clocked up lots of steps as they scaled the grassy banks donning their ‘Litter Squad’ high-vis jackets, over eight bags of litter were collected with happy faces of success all round.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to KFC who provided lunch for each child as well as Lindt and Morrisons for their much-needed treats and refreshments.
